Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements (BAC) Wage Subsidy

You may have heard there are plenty of great incentives to get more people in to work and especially for employers to engage a new Apprentice or Trainee!

The great news is that you can employ an apprentice or trainee with all the benefits of a Group Training Organisation such as KEEN Partners, and if eligible, you’ll still receive up to $28,000 per annum rebate (based on 50% cap) plus other applicable starting incentives!

There’s no limit to the number of eligible trainees or apprentices each business can hire, and there are extra opportunities for employing women in non-traditional trades too. The original 100,000 cap limit has been removed.

Eligibility

  • you must engage your Australian apprentice or employee by March 31, 2022.

  • your Australian Apprentice or trainee is undertaking a Certificate II or higher qualification and has a training contract that is formally approved by the state training authority.

  • The subsidy is not available for any apprentice receiving any other form of Australian Government wage subsidy e.g. Supporting Apprentices and Trainees or JobKeeper.
