KEEN Partners Update - October 2022

From a humble beginning in a small room in George Town to state-wide employees and three offices, what a journey it has been so far.

From late 2018 to early 2019 KEEN was conceptualised, and the George Town office officially opened, supported by a board with of over 180 years of industry experience collectively.

Our key company values are known by the acronym SIGMA.

Safety - ensuring our people go home safe to family and loved ones.

Integrity - we do the right thing.

Growth - ensuring all staff are looking to improve, reflect, and adapt through learning and knowledge.

Multiformity - enabling anyone to be afforded an opportunity to explore learning and employment opportunities no matter their past, culture, religion, gender, race, or diversity.

Accountability - delivering what we promise and holding each other accountable to our values.

Four years on, KEEN offices now span George Town (Head Office), Launceston and Burnie (Ridgley). We currently have employees all over Tasmania, covering numerous industries and occupations. Current industries/occupations range from painting, engineering (welding & machining metals), builders, roof plumbers, glaziers, electricians, civil works, mining, horticulture, administration, finance, traffic control, plastering, diesel mechanics, cleaners and more.

We still get asked ‘what does KEEN do?’

KEEN specialises in a number of areas.  We are a Group Training Organisation (GTO), a flexible workforce provider, and an apprenticeship management provider, and we are continuously exploring opportunities to provide more services as we grow.

What are these services?

GTO – We employ trainees/apprentices for the duration of their training and support & mentor them.  We build partnerships with host businesses to whom we hire our trainees/apprentices too, with the view of creating a sustainable workforce and pathway for trainees/apprentices and host businesses.

Flexible workforce – We employ and then hire out unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled people to host businesses to provide support and upskill both the employees and host businesses.

Traineeship/Apprenticeship Management – We manage the trainees/apprentices in your workplace to ensure they are progressing with their training towards a successful completion.
